Special Events

The Special Events department runs a huge range of cultural and educational events throughout the year, entailing everything from the Learn at Lunchtime lecture programs to book signings and private viewings of special museum exhibitions.

Instructional and learning opportunities take place regularly in areas as diverse as bridge, foreign languages, figure drawing, dance and writing.
Dinner theater outings are offered regularly to the Shubert,
Goodman, Cadillac Palace, Ford Oriental, Auditorium, Lyric and Symphony, and include lunch or dinner before the show (or, for opera outings, at the Tower Club).

Piano Bar takes place Thursdays and Fridays from September through May, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Presidents' Bar, and has featured such outstanding local performers as Jon Weber, Amy Armstrong, Spider Saloff and Hollis Resnik.
All events are described and published monthly in the member newsletter, the "76."

Nearly all events require reservations (so we can advise the speaker of crowd size, provide appropriate food, beverage and service and determine room size), so please make your reservations as early as possible.
