Catering ~ Corporate and Social Events
Whether you are planning a small business meeting or a grand special event, the University Club can meet your needs. The Catering Department can assist with your business needs, holiday parties, retirement, anniversary, birthday celebrations and much more. The Club prides itself on offering a spectacular setting overlooking the Millennium Park, Michigan Avenue and city skyline. We offer a unique and outstanding atmosphere with personalized service that is certain to exceed your expectation. We look forward to planning your next event.
Use of Facilities Our facilities are available to University Club members and their sponsored guests. Members of reciprocal clubs may also use the facilities, but may not sponsor other guests, unless they are in attendance. A current Letter of Introduction from the reciprocal club membership office is required.
Dress Code As set by the University Club House Rules, the Club’s Dress Code is as follows: Weekdays: traditional business or business casual attire. Shorts, t-shirts, athletic shoes and denim are not permitted. Weekends: casual attire permitted
Cell Phone Policy Cell phone usage is enforced seven days a week and permitted in designated areas of the Clubhouse only.
Room Rental Rental fees for private event rooms vary with room size, use, and season. we will be pleased to quote specific rental rates for your event. Applicable room rental taxes may apply.
Service Charge & Tax Policy Twenty percent service charge, plus applicable sales tax will be added to all food and beverage charges. Please note that sales tax can be exempt if a sponsored group provides their current State of Illinois tax exemption letter.
Event Attendance Guarantees To insure proper service, a final guarantee of your anticipated number of guests is required by 12 p.m., two full business days prior to each function. Your guarantee is the number of guests we are requested to seat and is the minimum number for which you will be billed. The original estimate on file will be considered the final guarantee unless specified two days prior to event.

Private Dining Room Cancellation Policy In the event you should need to cancel your event, the Club's cancellation policy listed below will apply.
29 Days – Day of event 100% of estimated charges based on the original guest counts. 30 – 90 Days prior to event 75% of estimated charges based on the original guest counts. 91 – 180 Days prior to event 50% of estimated charges based on the original guest counts.
Voluntary Donation Applicable to guests only: University Club House Rules do no permit tipping Club personnel and, unless instructed to the contrary, an additional 10% voluntary donation to the Christmas and Benevolent Fund to all employees will be added to your statement. This donation does not, in any way, constitute an additional charge for service rendered, but is merely a donation to employees in appreciation for their loyalty. The amount may be deducted from your statement if you so desire.
Parking Valet parking is available with the doorman at standard rates; Self parking is available at the following garages: Grant Park East Garage, located at Columbus Drive and Michigan Avenue, Grant Park North Garage located at Madison Street and Michigan Avenue, and Grant Park South Garage located at Jackson Street and Michigan Avenue.
Outside Food and Beverage Club policy prohibits outside food and beverages to be brought in and consumed in public areas. |
